Job Description
We are looking for an enthusiastic and engaging person to support our students on our Alternative Provision programme. Working with students who often have SEN, this freelance opportunity will be to assist our teaching lead with digital and creative media engagement whilst supporting with qualification delivery.
BlueWhale facilitates creative engagement through digital media. We strive to inspire and engage our young people who have a range of educational needs. Candidates will need to share in our vision, have the same drive and be both positive and energetic.
Qualifications and Skills
Knowledge of the following software;
-
- Adobe Photoshop
- Adobe Illustrator
- Apple Final Cut Pro
- Apple Motion
- Blender
- Experience of using DLSR cameras for both photography and video production.
- Some experience with SEN or looked after young people would be an advantage.
- A current advanced DBS check.
Our preferred candidate would have experience of all of these however we are willing to provide training to the right person.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Documenting the students’ progress with qualifications and achievement.
- Supervising students as individuals or in small groups.
- Helping pupils stay focused during lessons and ensuring they complete set work.
- Getting the classroom ready for lessons and clearing away afterwards.
- Providing a healthy and safe learning environment for children.
- Supervising and managing classroom behaviour.
Salary and Benefits
We offer competitive rates of pay and our working hours are predominately term time. This opportunity will be based at our premises in Birmingham City Centre. The role is currently for one fixed day per week but our business is growing rapidly and there will be opportunity for extra hours and career progression whilst working in an inspiring and friendly environment.

Qualifications and Skills
- Proficiency in producing music from a variety of genres using Logic Pro X.
- Knowledge of studio recording.
- A basic knowledge of musical theory.
- A basic knowledge of songwriting.
- Some experience of working with SEN or looked after young people would be an advantage.
- A current advanced DBS check.

- Helping students develop their musical creativity and compositional.
- Getting the classroom ready for lessons and clearing away afterwards.
- Providing a healthy and safe learning environment for children.
- Supervising and managing classroom behaviour.
